What we do

What can a McKenzie Friend do to help me?

McKenzie Friend Practice Direction - clear rulesWhen you speak to someone who offers to assist you ask them about McKenzie Friend Practice Direction. Or more accurately, `Practice Guidance‘.

In short, these the rules about what a McKenzie Friend can and can’t do. As professionals our team are entirely clear on this and it’s in the information pack we send to our new clients.

Within this guidance we are able to help you are much or as little as you like.  The beauty of using a service such as ours is you are always in complete control of your own case. From advice on case management to helping you with form filling, paperwork preparation, court process and explaining jargon and support during difficult times we can help.

It’ll help you know what your cost are at any point – you will not be faced with an unexpected (yet itemised bill) at the end of every month.

We specialise in bundle preparation – used in many hearings including Finding of Facts and trials. Please click here for more information.

Following the changes in April 2014 bundles are required (in theory at least) at all hearings. As a litigant in person you are not obliged to provide a bundle if the other party is represented or if you are the respondent.

A bundle should contain all evidence you wish to rely on in an often difficult and challenging situation.

With the stakes so high we often advise that regardless of the above you provide your own bundle. Our bundle preparation service will ensure that you will go to court reassured that your evidence will be before the court and compliant with Practice Direction. Our experience means we are able to assemble bundles (often running into hundreds of pages) and assisting to ensure they are filed in an efficient and timely manner. As always we will tailor our service to your requirements; from giving advice all the way to doing all the work.
