Michaela is a natural asset to anyone she assists and the glue that binds when it comes to putting together a plan for success.

Her career has included working with people with learning difficulties, as a debt collector, a fraud investigator, a benefit review officer and paralegal with ILEX. Michaela has worked in civil litigation for over 20 years. She is a shrewd negotiator and organiser, providing her clients with the confidence that every eventuality they will face will be dealt with professionally, positively and confidently.

Michaela is also a Master coach and hypnotherapist, as well being an NLP and hypnosis trainer, so she really knows how people tick. She is not only a top negotiator, but she knows exactly how to reduce your anxiety when in court.

Steven Wade

Steven is the lead at Family Law Assistance. A born problem solver, he’s used this talent to both assist litigants in person in the family court and turn his organisation into the success it is.

He’s a McKenzie Friend – a specialist in assisting people who choose to represent themselves (and not a solicitor).

For almost two decades he has gained hands on experience assisting litigants who have chosen to represent themselves in court around England and Wales. He’s worked at all levels including at the Royal Courts of Justice. With a sharp eye for detail he’s proven himself on countless occasions to be a real asset to the men and women he has assisted, in divorce, finance and child matters. He has a proven track record in assisting people who represent themselves both in the court room and outside it, using the innovate, proven and reliable ways Family Law Assistance has road tested over the years.

His work also includes developing the services and systems that Family Law Assistance use to assist their clients. This includes the automated systems and processes our team use, technical infrastructure and business growth.

He’s had a varied career. A science graduate, he’s worked in the oil industry in southern Africa. His work also includes working with blue chip companies to identify performance issues across large corporations, root cause analysis, requirements engineering and also as a business analyst for a several organisations.

He has also helped separated parents for a Welsh-based parenting charity, being an advocate of shared parenting and understanding the challenges men and women face in child, divorce and other family law matters. Over the years he has written a large body of blog posts, been interviewed in podcasts and regularly produces `explainer’ videos both on YouTube and his TikTok channel (which has over 20.000 followers and videos, some of which have been viewed half a million times).

Steven’s work is guided by a belief in fairness, clarity, shared parenting and empowering clients to represent themselves confidently and effectively.

All of these attributes run through the ethos of Family Law Assistance and these skills have been transferred to our team members.
