Colin Brealey
Colin Brealey joined the team as a franchisee with Family Law Assistance in 2024 after working as a family law specialist for many years.
Colin says:
I have assisted families throughout England & Wales at Court and at all levels since 2008. I have assisted in hundreds of cases, heard at Family Proceedings Courts, County Courts, The Central Family Court and the Royal Courts of Justice.
My objective is to help families gain positive outcomes for their children and the family as a whole. I hope to reduce the time, stress and cost of lengthy court proceedings. My advice is practical and informed and gained from considerable experience.
I have been involved in many cases where, with common sense and a child-focused approach, I have helped parents reach a settlement and avoid unnecessary conflict by helping them agree ‘Consent Orders’ which make a return to court less likely. Where agreement isn’t possible, I will help parents put forward child-focused and reasonable arguments.
I possess in-depth knowledge and experience of children’s matters ranging from post-separation living arrangements, contact disputes, domestic violence, cases where false allegations persist, and those including disputed paternity, and disputes over day-to-day matters which affect the children’s lives.
As well as assisting in private law proceedings, I also have experience in public law and have been successful in helping grandparents and other kinship carers obtain Special Guardianship Orders to avoid the children of the family being placed in care.
I regularly receive commendations from the judiciary for our assistance in Court in achieving child-focused outcomes.
