Family Law Assistance

The only alternative to a solicitor.

Steven Wade is a family law advisor (McKenzie Friend) with nearly 20 years of experience helping people represent themselves in court. Having been through the system personally and supported thousands of others since, he knows what it’s like to face the stress, confusion, and pressure of doing it alone. This blog shares practical insights that empower you to take control of your case — without the legal jargon or the hefty solicitor’s bill.

PR & Residence

When we first met Martin, he didn’t have parental responsibility (PR) for his son. No order in place, his son saw him when his child’s mother agreed to it. Contact was sporadic. He had been too scared to make an application to court after being told she would return to her home country and vanish with his own son if he ever did so.

With our help, Martin obtained an order for PR and another that his child was not to be removed from jurisdiction (England and Wales). Contact continued to be sporadic, with a number of breaches of the order.

Supporting Martin through his heartbreaking situation, we assisted him in making enforcement applications while the case progressed. Eventually during a hotly-contested final hearing if was agreed his son should live with him and spend time with his mother.

We started assisting Martin after he booked an `Ask Us Anything‘ session – a telephone call to begin the process of fixing everything.
